I don't see this standoff with China ending anytime soon. We can probably expect big market swings for the rest of the year. Anyone getting excited about "stocks are on sale" or "I missed the dip" will have a rough investing life. There's a reason Bogleheads create and stick to plans.

I rent and invest the difference. Ultimately, when I retire, unless I buy a property outright, which I might do if I find the "right place", I'll still have a rent/mortgage payment, but who cares - my portfolio will more than cover these and other expenses until I die.
