Re: Question about in-service rollovers...
An adviser at Fido had recommended an in service rollover from my employers company TRowe Price to Fido. I'm curious what advantage that would offer to me? My investments at Price are VTIAX,VINIX,VSCIX,VMCIX and MWTIX in a standard 401k. From research on the forum those are good enough funds compar...

Re: Question about in-service rollovers...
My plan does allow in service rollovers up to 100%. I do not have a tIRA. Just the company 401k and a taxable account. Could we do the rollover and then backdoor into a Roth? We are talking about about $550K here. Would I only pay tax on the gains that money makes in the time it takes to go from tIR...

Re: Question about in-service rollovers...
Well, there would be an advantage for Fido as they would have more money under management. The only advantages for you would be possible lower costs and greater choice of investments. There are also advantages of having the money in the 401k. There is greater liability protection, you can borrow th...

We were at a low point in April. Had lost about $500k. Just checking on it today we gained all that back plus $350K. Never took any money out, never readjusted our AA. We continued to add $2K monthly as we have been for the last few years. Staying the course seems to have worked so far. Still on tra...

I have a pension through my employer. About 3 years ago in contract negotiations they decided not to keep using the pension and so "froze " it. It is still in place but they are not funding it anymore. I have 17 years in it at time of freezing. I recently asked for statements based on thre...

Its kind of disappointing as I just had a conversation w FA about being weighted heavy in equities back in Feb. Fortunately of our 70/30 AA the bonds were in our 401k's. Not as mush drop in there.
