Re: Did you move for better weather? Did you regret it?

I moved to the Triad region of North Carolina for almost the exact opposite weather reasons that you speak of. I was tired of the grey gloomy and snowy Indiana weather. I absolutely love it here because I get all four seasons, I'm three hours to the coast, three hours to the mountains, summers can b...

What if for geopolitical reasons the markets suddenly went up and then went down>? What if you ended in the same spot that you did today if you hadn't completed the rollover? The rollover was made I assume to match your long term strategy. It was bad luck that the market swings happed like they did....

It appears that the TG2 is a triple paned window which means that there are two spaces filled with Argon to prevent heat transfer. Did the salesperson ha...

Re: 0% card to another 0%?

To answer the OP's original question. There isn't any issue associated with going from one 0% card to another. I've done this a couple of times as I carry a little bit of CC debt. I always make sure to do it a couple of weeks before the 0% on the first card runs out. The transaction usually takes a ...

Re: W-4 allowances: why not withhold the minimum to avoid penalty?

Just as a follow up, I calculated using Notice 1036 ( https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/n1036.pdf ) and, if I want to have NO income tax withheld from my paychecks going forward, I have to claim >50 allowances on my W-4. My question: if I claim >50 allowances on my W-4, will this, in itself, cause an...

Re: Bought house six months ago - now feeling like we're treading water and can't save money

As you own the house longer, you'll figure some things out. Yard sales once it's warmer. Instead of buying disney disks, buy a box of 100 of them at a yard sale for $3. Bees? We got bees. Carpenter bees. Look around the house now and then. Easy enough to see where they nest or have bored into your ...
