I thought it was simpler than last year’s taxes in the sense that my main deductions were mortgage interest, child tax credit, and $10,000 for state and local taxes. I did lose out on deducting all of my state and local taxes.

I bought a 1.3 million dollar home in 2016. There is about $980k left on mortage.

For 2018, we paid $30k in mortage interest.

Is it correct that
1)I can deduct $10,000 in taxes paid
2) I can deduct full $30,000 in mortgage interest paid
3) I can deduct total of $40,000?

Wife works for large company that offers group insurance. They charge her $1500/yr but if I am added on, cost to add me is additional $6000.
