Treasuries in tax deferred acct.

I know the tax benefit for taxable acct's (35%fed and no 6.37% N.J.). But wondering if ok for deferred? Also CD's in both tax deferred and taxable. And any other ideas welcome.

At age 79 and DW 73 our timeline suggests fixed and our overall portfolio currently is 30/70.
Full disclosure we will not run out of money.

Sure. It lets you defer taxes on the interest.

Curious why you might think it's not a good place?
In taxable you get state and federal so thought was better served.
In taxable accounts, you still pay federal taxes on interest from treasury bonds
thank you.

KlangFool wrote: Fri Oct 07, 2022 11:29 am OP,

I am very pragmatic about this. My AA is 60/40. My portfolio is at 30X my current annual expense. If the market drops and stay down long enough to give me problem, it is no longer a money/financial problem. I kept some physical gold and silver for that kind of possibility.

At this moment, I am hoping that the market drop a lot more by the end of this month for my next round of tax loss harvest.

I am prepared.

Lease vs. buy new car

We never leased new car, only purchased no loans. At 78 and DW 72 looking for opinion(s). Why layout 75K for new car instead of lease? The car will not have mileage greater than ~ 8k/year. If leased and death of lessee occurs can car be returned to lessor? Are leases negotiable? Probably more to know hence my post.
