Is it really unacceptable? This is whole point of carrying a back up payment method. Or simply good old fashion CASH!!sperry8 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 11:06 am Schwab said the fastest they can do for "expedited" service is 3-5 business days. Up to 5 days (although even worse cause they process in 8 day batches!). Luckily as a frequent traveler I always carry a backup debit card. So I'll be OK - but wow, I'm stunned at this. Absolutely unacceptable imo.
It would be nice if card issuers had a way to instantly provide you the info so you could apply a new card to your Apple Pay account instantly when it is reissued in cases like this. You wouldn't have to wait more than an hour to get it resolved this way.

Re: Plateaued with my 45 minute workout - Age 47
So you do this same work out 3 days a week? I would get off the treadmill if you can. If you want an all encompassing workout you can do pushups and or burpees in on the track or the sidewalk between running. You're hitting a 6:40 minute per mile pace. I'd try to incorporate some 1/4 mile segments @ about a 5:45 to 6:00 minute per mile pace. Really push the heart rate. I think you would benefit from changing it up on the other side... incorporate a day a week at a slower pace, but 6 miles.. Endurance training helps on the back end with sprint speed. Also you don't always have to lift weights.. but then again bench and pull ups are not legs... so you are fine. Maybe 1 day just do an easy 1 mile and then do squats and leg press. Here's the ex...

I personally don't think it's always a bad idea... But the Math component is REAL... I played a little of that game earning more than my mortgage and justifying keeping a large cash balance..
I paid off the Mortgage in 2018... I don't regret it... I suppose if I had hung on to that mortgage I could be earning @ 5.5% now when the mortgage was locked in a 2.5%... BUT then I would still have a mortgage...
I'll go back to my first statement... I haven't paid a mortgage payment in over 5 years.. and going on 6... I've turned that investable money with no concerns into some real returns well above 5%...

With the current yield on AT&T I and the anticipated dividend increase that was announced by management... I would not be in a hurry to divest... This could be paying 8% in 2024 and I anticipate capital appreciation this year.
I increased my position last year on the dip down in the $13s... that was/is value territory..
that being said.. I decrease risk on ATT I would look at other divided ETFs if she is looking for reoccurring dividend income I would look at a diversified dividend ETF to move assets into.

Re: What's Your Exit Strategy (for tax-deferred retirement accounts)
I'm probably late, retiring at age 66 mid this year. I only then realized that RMDs would make Medicare IRMAA extra cost worse. DW and I mostly saved through 401k's so we have plenty that will hit RMDs. To reduce that, we did our first Roth conversion ever this year and will do so up to just below the IRMAA limit until RMD time. Had I understood years earlier, I would have started Roth conversions much earlier. We've sort of saved too much. Smallest violin comes out and plays.... Having saved too much at that stage is probably the better side of the trade to be on... I'm a solid 20 years from "normal aged retirement" However, having done well and put away just shy of $3Million.. I'm beginning to think much more about the exit str...

Put it in a guaranteed investment that returns more than the 2.5%.... when you have the money saved.. you can then decide if you want to keep earning more and carry the mortgage.. or just pay it and move on. I carried one for a few years at 3.% while I was earning 4% on cash... After a couple years I just paid it... moved on..
Had I waited I'd be in a better position with a 3% mortgage... earning 5-6% on cash.. A little bit of kicking my self.. BUT come on.. I haven't had a mortgage payment in 4 years.. so.... I'm happy with it.

Then for credit cards that I am already approved on and they ask for updates to annual income I change it to $10K and my available credit never goes down.

I am looking for a $ amount, if that's feasible. Was there a certain point that you noticed your investments really start to gain traction, from what you remember? I realize this may be difficult to answer as we have up and down years. Just curious. Currently at $350k. The jump from $200k to $300k was quicker than $100k to $200k but not hugely noticeable. It depends on your contribution level to total assets. If you are investing $100K per year... you will see big jumps initially.... When you get to $2 million... your $100K only becomes 5% of your total portfolio... So your 10% growth per year takes on the growth of the portfolio rather than your investments. This applies the same if you are investing 10K per year. with you get to $200K yo...

During the accumulation years? Although it is an expense we all have during the accumulation years, it ranks lower in costs than the big three. Employer coverage of one's health care plans keeps costs low during the working years. As you retire and age, I would agree with you that it then garners attention as expenses of health care increase during decumulation. The JP Morgan Guide to Retirement is one source we study each year, and it confirms the expenses rise for health care as you age. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53129707123_1c881cb956_z.jpg https://am.jpmorgan.com/us/en/asset-management/adv/insights/retirement-insights/guide-to-retirement/?gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw84anBhCtARIsAISI-xeTLBNKKmYx3ShTc_MqXxQga0EXx0GQBvxq7rCEc4yxdo8a...

You don’t want both tires to dip down into the lowest part of the curb…. Or you install using a hitch adapter that lifts up the carrier.

You look up which stations source TOPTIER Fuel here. https://www.toptiergas.com/NYCaviator wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 6:58 am
It seems like every gas station is independently owned, regardless of the brand. How do I know the guy who owns the run down Shell up the street is actually using Shell's secret sauce "top tier" gas and not the same stuff the discount stations are using?
The trucks that pull up to fill up the tanks at gas stations usually aren't branded "Shell" or "BP" or "Conoco." Couldn't these independent stations just buy whatever they want?
Yes anyone can purchase toptier fuel... You just have to find which stations... some hole in the way crappy fuel stations use it...

Re: AZ landlord. Renter refused to pay the last month's rent. What next?
Hi, Our 2013 built rental house is in AZ (we lived in it until I rented it last year). Our renter (~$3k rent, $3k security deposit) bought a home in June; gave a notice about 30 days earlier and moved out early June. He paid June and July rent. The lease states that breaking a lease doesn't mean that he is out of the rent till end of contract date which is Aug 31st (exact terms included below). I put the rental advertisement up on May 24th and the house is not rented still... Today, the renter emailed my property manager the following: "I gave 30 days notice that I would be out first week of June. Which has been 60 days. I paid all of June and July, despite not living there. I can dent their credit score etc. I don't believe in hurtin...

Re: To LEAP(S) or not to LEAP(S)?
It depends for me how confident I am in things happening in the LEAPS time frame... I've been playing with LEAPS for several years now and while I've made a little money on a few of them more often than not things did not progress with the particular equities I got into in the time frame needed. Looking back... It would have just been easier to buy some shares and stick with a BH mind set and watch the over all base grow... Now if you get a real winner... that would be something.. I'm my case, I have had a few winners.. but I missed the gains by a good 6 month on either the front end or the back end... That said... I still have a few LEAPS but these are 0.02% of my over all portfolio and just messing around money. Thank you very much for y...

Buy the car dude... you make half a million a year... and you're caught up on a $120K car ? You make that in 4 months... 5 months to cover the taxes... chances are you'll take good care of it.... and sell it in 10 years for more than you paid... or pass it down to your kids..
