In my opinion here's how to make a lease work for you.....buy a 3 year old car that has just come off lease. If you shop a bit, you can acquire a car that the previous leaseholder had taken that initial hit on.

Sorry if this represents topic creep, but...........Assuming that you have decently priced LTCI, how does that mesh with a CCRC? In other words, if you've paid up front for a CCRC will you essentially collect little or nothing from your LTCI policy if you later require assisted living within the CCRC?

Run for a few minutes every month of inactivity. Definitely not 10-15min every day!

This is also true if your auto AC hasn’t run for an extended period, but realize that the auto AC runs in defogger mode as well.

I view the need for a "tune up" of a modern natural gas furnace & AC system akin to a "tune up" of most any car bought in the past decade. Unless there's an issue, just change the filter and clean the outside unit annually.

In general, while charitable deductions are still allowed, now that the standard deduction has essentially doubled many filers will no longer itemize. My cost of charity this year has effectively increased significantly.
