Mice ate the wiring harness on my John Deere tractor causing $6k damage. I had it parked under a pole barn and had to move out in the field. Started using rat poison, peppermint spray, and ultrasonic noise. If all else fails I’m going to get feral cats

I use Smartmove and have been satisfied. You can arrange for potential tenants to pay for the screen and then you receive credit report and background information. It costs around $50 if I’m remembering correctly

Advice needed. Mechanic accidentally broke custom fog light and plastic frame
Last week I took my 2014 Chevy Silverado Reaper to a local auto shop I’ve used for 15 years to have tires rotated and balanced. As I was paying for the service, the owner informed me the mechanic drove it into a door and broke the fog light and the plastic piece that holds the light in place. Usually not a big deal to order the parts and repair the damage. However this vehicle has a custom Reaper package that was only built in 2014 & 2015. The mechanic called SCA in Trussville, AL b/c they did all the Reaper builds and SCA was unhelpful. They no longer do the Reaper package and did not provide any other options or info. So for the last 2 weeks my vehicle is missing a fog light and the parking sensors are now inoperable. I’m hoping someo...

In the past 10 years over 100 new Emergency Medicine residencies have been established with a mean of 13 residents per year per program. This is why there is concern for EM physician oversupply in the near future. You have great training as an EM doctor and you can leverage that to help you find alternative career. I’ve been practicing EM for nearly 20 years and I’ve been able to transition to wound care 1/2 time. I also have reviewed medical malpractice cases as a side job. You can consider working urgent care. You can join military until age 50 and work as physician. You can work as a prison doctor or work in cruise medicine. You can start a business or start accumulating rental properties. The point is that you have many options and it’s...

Re: Rental Car Availability
My family and I just returned from an excellent vacation to Yellowstone national park. I can confirm that rental car availability is very low and very expensive. Fortunately, my wife discovered the Toyota dealership in Bozeman Montana rents vehicles. We were able to rent a Toyota Highlander hybrid for $499 for a week, unlimited miles. The only hitch was we had to pay $55 for a taxi to take us from the airport to the Toyota dealership. The taxi driver says they are getting 3000 - $5000 a week for rental cars. Crazy!

I haven’t called Fidelity regarding after hours trading but I suspect the process simply entails you calling and requesting for them to add after hours trading to your account. I doubt this involves any fees. Probably they just want to document that they informed you that after hours trading is inherently more risky.

I disagree with the decision to ban discussions about cryptocurrencies . Full disclosure: I own no btc, doge, etherium but I have traded gbtc in the past. Made a good profit by the way. But seriously I learned about crypto on this site by reading posts from people with significant knowledge and wisdom. I think adults can take in information and make an educated decision. If a particular thread goes out of bounds then the moderator should step in and lock it. Not a fan of censoring topics. It’s a slippery slope.

As mentioned many times above, the Fidelity DEBIT card does NOT have a FTF when used to make ATM withdrawals. It does have a 1% FTF when used for purchases. AFAIK, there is no cash back provision with the DEBIT card.

OMG! I'll read through that thread. However, I have a brokerage account at Fidelity and have been very impressed. Just last week I transferred a large sum of money from Fidelity to my checking account to buy a property and it was in the checking account within 5 minutes. I was expecting it to take at least 24 hours. Also, I like the 2% credit card. Last year I had over $1000 of rewards automatically deposited to my brokerage account.you might want to read the "I'm leaving Fidelity" thread.

BRK is a blue chip stock that can serve as a core position in an individual portfolio. I own it in my portfolio and am quite happy with its performance. It is located in taxable account so I don’t mind that it doesn’t issue dividends. I expect that it will basically track the S&P 500 over time but who really knows.

I definitely try to keep expense ratios as low as possible b/c costs matter. But, I will pay a high expense ratio for access to funds that diversify my portfolio. For example, last year I bought GBTC at 2% expense ratio to get bitcoin exposure. Then I sold it several months later for several thousand dollar profit.

I have no problem with index funds and most of my portfolio is invested in index funds. However one of my best performing funds is an actively managed vanguard mutual fund, VDIGX. I’m looking for a similar fund in the international market. The previous suggestion of VIGI is a great fit for my investment strategy and I’m considering adding it to my portfolio. There shouldn't be any actively managed funds that are "Boglehead approved" since index investing is at the heart of the Boglehead philosophy.

Are there any low cost actively managed international ETFs, preferably Vanguard based? Upon reviewing my portfolio I became aware that I am currently underweight international stocks. Right now I have a 95% US stocks and I’d like to increase the percentage to somewhere around 25%. I understand that passive index funds are the typical recommendation, but I am trying to determine if there are any low-cost actively managed international funds that are boglehead approved. Thanks.

I feel your pain as my daughter just bought a home and underwriters ask for a ridiculous amount of records. We paid for her dog’s surgery and transferred money to her account. The underwriters flagged this transaction and required us to submit banking statements and an affidavit. The level of bureaucracy involved in applying for mortgage has reached ridiculous proportions. I can’t answer your question but I’d recommend speaking with your banker/mortgage broker and see what they suggest. It sounds like you have already submitted sufficient evidence that the child support has been retired
