Re: Living on Your Investments? What Happens When a Bear Market Hits?

OP,

Welcome to the forum.
Do yourself an enormous favor: don't use the article's author or his investment firm for financial advice.
Read posts by people here who have absolutely nothing to gain by selling you something or convincing you of something.

Check your AA and rebalance if needed.

Re: Help With Rolling Over Retirement Trust

I think you are leaning in the right direction. If you go with Vanguard, they will pull your money from where it is into your new account (which they will help you set up) at Vanguard. I did this 10 years ago when I retired and they did all the work. My transfer did not involve a retirement trust, h...

The only cash I hold is in Vanguard Prime Money Market.
I retired almost 10 years ago and up until now I have not held any cash at all. We've recently decided to pay for our grandson's college education, so I'm moving money there for safety.

PS - Nice to see you back on the radar, Rick.

I wouldn't consider the 190K a "loss". If you do, then fine.
But you'd also have to then realize that after 2 years of saving the 96K annual premium, you'd be about "even"...and getting further "ahead" every year that you don't pay that premium.

He may have meant that the proposed allocations would have returned 5.35% over some specified period in the past. Read the wiki, read some...
