Re: WSJ: "60-40 Investing Strategy Just Had Its Worst Year in Generations"

I didn't read the article (pay wall)
Two observations:
1. Based on the comments, the article appears to be a large hunk of recency bias.
2. Fear is a bigger seller (of newspapers in this case) than optimism. Always has been.

Gee,

I can remember all the way back when we couldn't hang out our windows far enough or bang our pots and pans together loud enough to show support for the medical profession.

Funny how time changes some folks.

Re: Daily news video - 20 to 30 minutes

I disagree that most news is "entertainment", although I used to think so.
Recently, I've come to the opinion that the main driver of the Opinion News Broadcasts is to keep eyes or ears on the screen or on the radio station through the next set of advertisements. They know their audiences well, and they try very hard to keep those audiences outraged enough, or scared enough, or simply concerned enough to sit through the next series of commercials.

Guess what that does to their ad revenue.

+1 for the Metro-North suggestion if possible.
The theater district is an easy c. 25-30 minute walk from Grand Central Station. I would avoid driving into or parking in the area. It can be nightmarishly congested.

As mentioned, it's a very good idea to familiarize yourself with the lyrics before going so you can enjoy the "bigger picture".

Also, I'd be interested to know what "principle" would prevent a person from seeing Hamilton. Seems odd.

You and your wife should sit quietly, agree on how to proceed, make a determination if it seems reasonable (given your wife's knowledge of and experience with the company), then proceed.
