Ignoring your political quips, my only comment would be around the size/sprawl of Dallas. I would visit a couple of times before you decide to move there. It's definitely not for everyone.

First of all, the Assets Under Management Fee is charged on what is managed by the Advisor's firm, it would not cover assets held elsewhere such as Vanguard. This is a bad idea. Assuming your IRA is a traditional IRA, this will trigger $50k in income.

Also, if you aren't taking your RMD, you are likely liable for a large penalty.

A couple of comments:

1. I would engage a broker as they tend to have good advice.
2. Get a quote from others, including Principal.
3. Consider changing your elimination period to 180 days or something higher. This has a large effect on your premium.

This sounds like a really good plan. You should look at Fidelity's FDIC program where they distribute it to a couple of banks or Flourish.

Yes -- I inherited shares. I sell them to take my RMD once a year, and periodically sell shares to diversify into VTSAX/VTIAX, as I did yesterday as it hit an all time high.

IRS may have delayed it on their systems due to the change in the due date.

Direct Pay and EFTPS wouldn't be affected by this because they are separate systems.
