To get back to the OPs situation. How much of your RSUs are currently vested ? One way to play this is to put all of your savings (400K) + all your vested RSUs in as a downpayment. If you can put in something like 700K-800K down towards the house, and then pledge that you will sell all your RSUs go...

Actually these responses are more positive than I thought I would hear from the boglehead community. Our hearts are set on buying a place, but the financial decision is daunting.
