Is Amex Platinum worth the high fees?

We are retirees and travel several times/year. Currently we have United mileage Plus card at $95/year. We recently got an invite in the mail from Amex and was intrigued by its marketing brochure. It looks good for the $550 fee. What do bogleheads here think? Is it worth it? Is there a comparable car...

Re: Recommendation for things to do in Seattle area

Mt Rainier is great. Hit the highlight areas: Longmire, then Paradise and Sunrise. I would do Paradise either early in the AM (before 9) or late PM (3PM) to avoid the crowd and possible parking issues, especially on weekends. Also, we rented a car to go to and from Rainier, but did not need one in S...

I decided to buy a new iPAD to replace my aging original iPAD. I did look at the older iPAD Air 2, but decided against it. It looks like most places are charging the full price $329. Check DirectV NOW (streaming service)to see if they have local channels in your area. Looks like they have everything you need (golf channel and sports ESPN, FOX). Slighlty more expensive than Sling, but has a few more channels you may want.
