uva/uvb clothing

Does anyone have any experience with UVA/UVB clothing? I looked at some brands like Coolibar, Patagonia and they are really pricey. Wondering if it is worth the cost ? Short backstory - seem to have developed great sensitivity to the sun recently . Even running errands (walking from car to store etc...

Re: Favorite Thriller Authors and Why

Probably already heard of them but I'll throw in P.D James, Ruth Rendell and Reginald Hill - they are all British authors. I also enjoy Martha Grimes - she is an American author but her main series ( the Richard Jury series )is set in England - falls into the "cozies" category. Her characters are ve...

Potential contract to hire interview questions

I have an interview next week for a potential contract-to-hire job. The interview is with the end client - not the contracting company. It is a 3 month contract-to-hire . I am wondering - is it possible to find out information about the benefits (medical,401K etc ) and salary range offered by the cl...

We have the Eclipse brand. No issues, completely dark.
+1 - Agreed - they work very well . I believe they also make a curtain liner that may work if you are happy with your curtains. I found it on amazon.

In both cases, we are not able to get the fully finished (and furnished) "lower level" to be included. Apparently it's considered a "basement", "below grade", in both cases. With the older house (our current home), we had the same question as OP. We checked with town, and also with insurer. The tow...

house issue with number of rooms

Hello all, I bought a new house last year . I think I messed up somewhere :( , but I just realized today that the county tax assessment records show a total of 2 full baths and indicate an unfinished basement - however , this has a mostly finished basement with a full bath. There have been 2 or 3 se...

New check valve is on order since I am unable to find that clear, quiet type of valve locally and will look into buying a spare pump to keep in case it fails.

The house I recently moved into has a 12 year old sump pump ( 2005 ). It is made by Zoeller ..no idea what model. I hear it running and I have not noticed any water rising in the pit. That being said, the check valve has developed a slow leak. I posted this on a DIY forum as well and received a numb...

I think in a 1099 vs W2 , the job security depends a lot on the field you are in. In my area - Fed govt contracting, there are lots of people who do work on a 1099 . Since the contracts are generally long term ( think 10 -15 yrs ) , the job security is almost the same as a W2 for that period of time...
