I got no issue with the AB deployment. It was replaced.
Just be aware that there may be difficulty selling it. If you are going to drive it for many years, then it doesn't matter at all. Jeeps with 300,000 miles and clear titles sell for the same money as Jeeps with 300,000 miles and salvage titles. ( I know salvage title wasn't mentioned)
As mentioned, I don't know why those things sell for such high prices, either.

Re: Would you buy this? (Phone Question)
That phone can do a lot. It is very high end. You will use it more and more as a computer, but it will use more data as you use it more to its capacity.
If you have several wifi accesses you can get by with only 1 gig of data, but that won't last long if you are using over the air data.
I use my phone pretty regular away from wifi and I use around 2.5 gig/month. I limit myself to wifi if I need to watch vids.
If you have that nice of a phone, you should be using its video capacity to make it worth it. It was built for watching vids.

Thanks for the replies.
Like any tools, you need to carefully select what you are buying. I've got no fear buying tools from HF. I know which ones are not worth it and I know what ones are an awesome deal.
Simple review searches can easily weed out what you should be skipping.

Re: Favorite socks?
I've been wearing alpaca wool socks this last year. I'm simply amazed. They pull moisture away from your feet rapidly.
I'm going to try them in warmer weather to see if they work as well with hot, sweaty feet. I got a suspicion that they will work great.

Harbor Freight fold-able trailer
Anyone have an idea when HF will start selling these trailers again?
They were pulled from the market for not being DOT certified in all 50 states.
I was told either problems with the tires or with the lights. I'm not really sure which or both was the reason.
I really like these trailer for small hauling chores and they were easy to store. I hope they start selling them again soon.

Re: Million? [Will I get there]
Sorry about forgetting about this thread. Been almost 2 years since I started it. If anyone cares, the 401 is at 755, house is worth 120k and I have no bills except taxes and insurance. I think between the roths and cash, there is another 50k. I know my wife has cash stashed, 3-4k. I want to retire from my present job, collect about a $2500/month pension and go back to work doing something completely different. I won't really be concerned about wages. Ill be working to fund my insurance needs. Extra will be a bonus. In 1.5 years, the 401 increased 171k. I am invested aggressively. I should think about becoming more conservative, but I like the way the market has treated me. I hate to miss out on any surges. I've spent the last 25 years neve...

Re: 401k catch up $ ?
Thanks for the responses.
All good info.
I do have other investments, but nothing as significant as the 401. My plan is to retire from the present job with a 2200/mo pension and hunt up another, less demanding occupation. Maybe work my small business(which I have now) more seriously.
Thanks again.

401k catch up $ ?
I just turned 50 so am now eligible to run my contributions to 24k. I also maxed out my 18k contributions just before turning 50. My question is: What benefit does adding that extra 6k do for your account numbers? That 6k really doesn't gain you much in the compounding interest of the whole account. This was a very high overtime year, I don't expect to be able to contribute more than 20-22k for the next 6 years. What would be a better place for that 6k(provided that I can make that much by the end of the year)? Obviously I don't have trouble saving, I'm leaning towards just having quick access to that money and stuff it into a high yield SA. 401 is presently sitting at around 750k and I would like to stop working in 6 years. Edit: I will co...

Re: Aging parents
Thanks for all the replies. I believe the day is coming where I will be responsible for how his money is spent. It will happen with all of us. At present, I don't see a change in his habits on giving his money away to whoever he wants. He's been doing it for 30 years. Once his capacities decline, I will most likely be the one who has control of the money. Not actually looking forward to that, but that is what a good son does. His pension and SS will be used for his care and the freeloader will have to fend for themselves. There is no money that will have to be divied up upon his death. Your replies have only made me more apprehensive. I'll be scheduling an appointment with account services first thing Monday. I'm hoping, this being a credit...

Aging parents
My father is getting up there. Still fairly sound physical and mentally. He asked me to put myself on his bank account at our credit union. I did. I hope it doesn't bite me in the ass. He has always been a "soft touch". He can not say no to anyone who is short on money and will easily go thru his monthly pension and SS money. Because of this, there have been some rather, how can I say this nicely?, lazy people who have been in his circle for years. I'm a success. I have over an 825 credit rating. After looking online at his banking history(now that I'm on the account), I see several overdraft charges on his credit union checking account. Fairly recent, too. My worry is if there is any chance these over draft charges can bleed over...

Galliard Stable Value Fund 7.5%
NT Collective Russell 3000 Index Fund DC; Non Lending Tier Three 32.2%
Northern Trust Focus 2030 Fund; Tier L 50%
Walter Scott Global Equity Fund 10%
These are the current allotments. Like I said, I've touched nothing in over 20 years. Most likely should start learning about this stuff ASAP.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Million? [Will I get there]
I have a few corrections.
I listed my 401k as my IRA. I can't remember what the IRA number is for the 2 of us.
I would love to list my asset allocation, but really have no idea what they are. Going to research that question.
Most likely won't do many updates to the thread until next Tuesday night. I'm done with computers until then.

Million? [Will I get there]
I freely admit that all I can do is save. I know next to nothing about investing or allotments or whatever. I am told by the caretaker of my companies IRA (Vanguard), that I have my money correctly invested. How would I know? I've made no changes in 20 years and taken no loans. I've been maxing the yearly allowable max for the last 20 out of 22 years. $585000 as of tonight, shouldn't I have more money? I dunno? We just save, my wife and I don't spend a lot of money, my hobby is metal fabrication and it pays for my tools and supplies but does nothing to add income to the house hold. On the plus side it doesn't cost me money to do the things I love. In addition there are no children. I don't need to have anything to had down. Our cars have al...
