I can sadly report that if you do not have the option of direct transfer (we don't) of either a paycheck, or government check (SS etc) that the Chase bonus will not work. Very disappointed :? I did that exactly. I had the MM account, opened the checking account, transferred money from MM into checking and immediately closed MM. I don't think keeping both impacts it in any way.

I don't know about the soft pull.

I just got the Hilton Surpass and my third Alaska card. Also the Capital One Venture card for the second time - to use for international travel this summer. Will churn the Barclay Arrival Plus card later this summer. May get the wife the free Hilton card, too. I think the Hilton deals end May 31st.
