I put everything in one pot pretty much for simplicity. Lets say I have 100k in savings. 98% is in a No Penalty CD at Ally earning 1.35%. The other 2% is in Savings at Ally earning 1.05%.

I keep mine at Ally HYS earning 1.05%. My timeframe is a little different than yours though. I have enough to buy tomorrow but am being patient so I guess technically it could be years down the line but hopefully not. I'd still leave it in Ally if I were in your shoes though as it's risk free.

I keep a local CU checking account because it can be linked to my Ally account for easy transferring. I keep between anywhere from $300-$1,000 in this as it's easy accessible. 99.9% of my "cash" is at Ally which I joined thanks to Bogleheads. Do the same! :happy
