I can certainly understand why some folks are suggesting "don't do it!". But the family dynamic has to be considered too. Case in point... I'm almost 60 and have utilized family loans on many occasions. They always got paid back, with interest (that was sometimes forgiven). Our Houston house flooded...

I would greatly appreciate some help evaluating the choices offered by my SO’s 401(k). For perspective, we both utilize Vanguard Target Date funds for our Roth IRAs. And I use a T.
