Thank you LadyGeek....I already made out my taxes and included the interest. My concern was with no 1099, would I be looking at amending my taxes. I know I'm responsible.

If you don't get a 1099 for cashing them, would you still report the interest?

No 1099 on cashed savings bonds

I cashed savings bonds last year. Never got a 1099. Went to my credit union they sent the state gov. the info. I still haven't rec'd a 1099. I know what to claim and wonder if I should without a 1099.

If you have a 401(k) with your employer and you want to do a backdoor Roth, say with Vanguard by opening and IRA and converting to a Roth but your MAGI is over $10,000 can you still do the backdoor Roth? The IRS says NO to contributions to an IRA. Just wondering if the outside IRA makes a difference...

I have several Vanguard tax-ex muni funds. Vanguard sends out a list of funds that has tax-ex interest dividends by state. I can calculate what that is but don't know how to enter it in TT. Anyone know how?

I prefer Costco over Sam's. Costco has great employees and you can get in and out faster than at Sam's. It's also a cleaner store. I do have one complaint. Once you love an item, frozen crab cakes for an example, you need to purchase as many as you can. Once an item is gone they don't replace it. I ...

My son works in Honolulu for the gov. He lives in an apt with his wife. They spend 4 to 8 hours a week of wasted time stuck in traffic. He's contemplating buying a boat and living dockside 99% of time and thinks he can save money.

Check with your water co. They offer insurance for $200/yr but check the fine print.

In MO our sewer company had a ballot issue which won a few weeks ago. Everybody pools in about $30 a year and the sewer company will take care the damage.
