Re: Merrill Edge sold my ETFs without my consent, SEC, FINRA, CFPB?

One option would be FINRA arbitration . Thanks! This is the most useful information I've gotten on the last 2 pages. Probably will only go this route though if I've lost money or they refuse to transfer my money to my new IRA I recently opened and requested a full ACAT for. I'd prefer not go this r...

Re: Merrill Edge sold my ETFs without my consent, SEC, FINRA, CFPB?

The issue isn't whether they can close his account but whether they can sell his securities at a random price and without warning. Do the T&C really state that they can sell securities if he does something with his credit card they don't like? I agree....this is the issue. My question would be: how...

0 notifications on the IRA. They can't provide tracking on notification because none exist.

What is MS on a BOA CC? Broken Man 1999 manufactured spend. OP- How much did you do and did it involve money orders back into BofA checking account? 0 MO deposits to my BOA checking account. Re: Merrill Edge sold my ETFs without my consent, SEC, FINRA, CFPB?

why did they close your accounts? Per their T&C they can close without explaining why. Have you calculated whether you lost any money? Markets might be down from where they sold your positions. Right now it is down, but that may change by the time it gets over to TDAM. Likely was some minor MS on a...

Merrill Edge sold my ETFs without my consent, SEC, FINRA, CFPB?

So, Merrill Edge sold all of my ETFs without my consent. They provided me notice about a month ago they were closing my CMA(Taxable Brokerage) account so I transferred that to another firm, but they never provided any notice about my IRA. I found out this morning that the liquidated all of my positi...

Re: My first poor Ally Bank experience

No wonder they shut you down. That is classic sign of money laundering. Then there is the fact that it was over $10K - which means they are required to report it to the Feds. A common misconception. This only applies to cash deposits, not electronic transfers between a customer's accounts. I stated...

Yikes, I've been using Ally as my primary "hub" for all my bonuses and MS since Fido shut me down last year. I too use this as my account for everything and keep a hefty balance. Re: Why does Vanguard require snail mail for new application

Just curious why I need to print out a 9 page document they already have the info for? Seems like a waste and most other banks/brokerages can do everything online. Is Vanguard still really behind? I recall hearing about having to call in and wait 60 days and stuff like that. Hoping this isn't a for...

Re: Due diligence on RAFI Pure Small Value

Due diligence - ER could be locked in to .7% in the future. .7% is simply too high an ER - especially for an ETF. You could get locked in with some capital gains. Just use a lower cost option for that asset class. Don't buy in taxable then if you are afraid of an increase in ER. More likely issue w...

Re: Page Plus Versus Republic Wireless - Who's Better?

the thing i don't understand about page plus is the $0.29 / minute roaming charge. Where in the US would I be roaming out of verizon/page plus range? Check the Verizon PREPAID network coverage. This is different than Verizon postpaid coverage (which is better). There are many areas where Prepaid do...

For those that wonder why so many sites can have this price problem is its computerized pricing. Basically one price gets screwed up and the algorithms that the other sites are running go haywire.

Hmm, its a 720p plasma and looks like its usually a little over $400 new, which could be part of the reason for the price. Who knows... Its basically the same listed price directly on their website. BBB Alternatives after no complaint resolution

I recently filed a complaint against a services company (dentist) due to being overcharged. The amount of the overcharge is less than $200. After working with the BBB, the dentist gave a response which I rejected. The dentist was then given an opportunity to respond, and they decided not to. The BBB...
