Re: NE Ohio (Cleveland Area) Master Thread

Any chance the meeting will ever be on the east side? Or will it always be at the North Royalton library? This is a tough one. We have always met in a location that is more or less 'central.' For example, to get to North Royalton I drive about 45 minutes from Lorain County. How long do eastsiders h...

That question was raised at our meeting this morning (Aug 12), but Karen was absent, so we'll need to wait until she is back in town to get a definitive answer. In a recent email she announced that the October meeting will be on Oct 14.

Local rules will determine your options. I'm at a university, and we use TIAA-CREF exclusively. Besides our standard "retirement annuity," we have also had forever access to an optional "supplemental retirement annuity." Congress changed the rules about "file and suspend" last fall, and it appears you are aware of that. But this is confusing: "I reached FRA on 10/4/2016." ?? IF you reached FRA in October **2015**, I think you can still file and suspend, if you do it before May 1 of this year. If ...
