Re: BofA HSA dropping Vanguard Funds

Original poster here. Sorry to hear your problems SobeCane. I ultimately transferred my HSA to Alliant Credit Union. You get the low cost vanguard domestic and international stock funds as well as the Barclays agg bond fund. Cash gets about 0.65% return and the investment cost about $6 bucks a month...

Re: M* and Vanguard ER Discrepancy

I see now VBMFX are the same but VTIAX and some others like VWIUX (admiral intermediate muni) are not. For VWIUX, Vanguard as 12 bps and M* has 9 bps.

M* and Vanguard ER Discrepancy

I have noticed that Vanguard and M* (Morningstar) have posted different ERs for some of the funds that I have reviewed recently. Vanguard list their investor shares for the total bond fund (VBMFX) at 20 bps and M* states 16 bps. Another one was admiral total international stock shares (VTIAX) which ...

Re: BofA HSA dropping Vanguard Funds

Centrifuge41, you have a good point about just loading up on the Blackrock fund. I have used Vanguard target date funds exclusively in my other buckets (401k, Roth) to keep myself from playing with my food (tilts, tactical this or that), but maybe I just should overweight the S&P a bit more in c...

BofA HSA dropping Vanguard Funds

I have been using Bank of America for my HSA contributions. I was using the Vanguard S&P stock fund (VFINX), Vanguard Total international stock fund (VGTSX), and the TIPS bond (VIPSX) fund as my investions with a blended ER of about 19 basis points. I liked the "banky"ness of the HSA w...

Re: Understanding Muni/Treasury spreads

Thanks for everyone's responses. I have certainly learned a lot from this board. I lurk much more than I post Bond instruments can be very complex (to me) in regards to convexity, duration, and yields (SEC vs. distribution). I have tried to embrace the three fund portfolio (now four fund with Intern...

Understanding Muni/Treasury spreads

I am considering adding an intermediate muni as part of my taxable account to keep my AA even across taxable and tax deferred investment spaces. However, I am having a hard time understanding the relative risks of munis vs. treasuries in general. Looking at Moody's data, the risk of Muni default acr...

In case I deep-six: An IPS for my wife

I have been lurking on Bogleheads.org for over a year, and have learned a great deal from you guys. Well here is my first post. I have an IPS and have been following it for some time. I have been trying to get my wife up to speed as well. I have prepared documents for her in case I become sick, disa...
