We get a lot of use out of iHike. It's great for hiking and other off road activities. It's not free. About $5 if I recall.

We have had good experiences with a similar entity ZipCar. Similar concept that you use a car by the hour. All costs built in to the hourly rate including fuel, mileage, etc. One thing to check into is if you pick up and drop off at the same location. with ZipCar that's a must so no one way trips. I...

Our health insurance includes eye exams but not glasses/contacts. We usually get our boys glasses at Walmart. They have "$9" frames in a decent selection. We usually opt for the photochromic lenses which darken automatically in bright light. About $90 total. They come with a year warranty....

That's mostly correct. The 23k can be a loss. You will have to recapture the 50k in depreciation at 25% which will be 12.5k in tax liability. Recaptured depreciation is one of those things left off the front page of the glossy brochure about investment real estate.

I get it from my local library for free via Overdrive. It loads via the Nook app right onto my iPad. Need to request each issue manually. Easy way to save $198/yr in your scenario and still get what you wanted.
