Hi All,
Is it possible to somehow add a SVF (no ticker symbol) with a 2% return into Portfolio Visualizer?

Thanks!

Re: Financial Advisor's Calculations Accurate re: VFINX v their Fund?

Ask why settle for $1.2m when you could easily do better. Here's a couple off the shelf ideas, 100% Fidelity Balanced and 50/50 Wellington/Wellesley. https://www.portfoliovisualizer.com/backtest-portfolio?s=y&timePeriod=4&startYear=2000&firstMonth=1&endYear=2015&lastMonth=12&...

Re: MSPGX (expense .79%) vs. Stable Value @ 3% return ??

I use the stable value option in my 403b just as you are considering. The rate is set every 6 months and is fixed for that period.

Mine only pays 2% so you have a very good one!

You either want to be a landlord or you don't.

How is the $155k mortgage going to be paid by the tenant in 5 years? Is the rent $2800/month?

Hi WaterDog, I'd like to offer some suggestions: Keep your mouth shut about your inheritance. If you do decide to wed, rock solid pre-nup prepared by attorney, executed months in advance of wedding. The last thing you want is to lose half your assets and have years of alimony payments. Don't get int...

Agree that 3x4 downspouts are a must.

I added Gutter Big Mouths to my downspouts and it helps a lot with clogs. Google it.

As to cleaning gutters, I fashioned a length of downspout with a couple elbows on one end onto a leaf blower. Super easy to blow crap out of the gutters without a ladder!

Re: TRP "Fee Credits" [T. Rowe Price]

That sounds a bit like what they call "Revenue Sharing" in my 403b at Principal, where some of the investment options have a portion of the ER returned to the customer in the form of a fee adjustment on the statement.

Re: Negotiating tips for selling condo to tenant

If you want to wait to sell in the spring, how about going to a month to month rental instead of a lease with your current tenant (once the current lease expires)? I would agree with the others about not selling while occupied. Get them out and freshen it up with paint and carpet, then put it on the...

Your employer should allow for a fixed contribution amount per pay period vs a percentage of gross pay. My employer used to have fixed dollar amount contribution but recently did away with it due to "several issues from an administrative side". The percentage option is a real pain when yo...

Total Wireless user here.

I don't use much data so what I do is buy the $25/month no data plan and then add on the $10 3GB data card as needed (maybe once a year).

My buddy just switched over to a new MVNO I have not heard of called MintSIM. I think it's on T-Mobile. Super cheap.

I also cut the bottom of the bottle off with heavy duty scissors and use a finger to scoop it out as needed. I cover the open container with a piece of tin foil.

What happens to balanced funds if interest rates rise?

Hi All, How do rising rates effect a typical balanced fund, let's say Fidelity Balanced Fund which I have at my 403b? Does the fund lose value because the bond portion is worth less or does it not matter because the bonds are held until maturity? Not making any predictions, just curios how it works....
