Re: Can not decide between washing machines

We bought a new Samsung washer (WF363BTBEUF) five years ago when we moved into our house. Three years later the gasket that seals the door developed a tear and had to be replaced. At the same time we bought a Samsung refrigerator that, though poor design, freezes over the water drain and requires a ...

Re: Sport Rx Glasses (for Mountain Biking)

You can order bicycling glasses with prescriptions from https://www.sportrx.com/ . They have Oakley, Rudy Project, Smith and others. I bought a pair of Revo sunglasses with progressive lenses from them back in April and have used them as my riding glasses. I'm local so I was able to visit the store ...

Re: BMW Z3 or Z4 or nothing at all?

We have a '98 Z3 2.8 that we bought used in 2000. It has been a solid car and is still my wife's daily driver. With the top down, I think that our Z3 offers everything you could ask for in a roadster. No major mechanical issues but the top needs to be replaced ($950). The car came with the optional ...

'99 4Runner with steering/suspension problem

I have a '99 Toyota 4Runner that I've owned since new. Lately I've noticed that when I go over rough or uneven pavement I can feel a "bump" through the steering wheel, and sometimes hear it as well. The last time I drove over a true washboard road it felt and sounded as though someone was hitting th...

Our friends gave us DNA analysis with ancestry.com for Christmas. We declined since we didn't want our DNA linked to our names to be out on the Internet. Re: Choosing between two siding contractors

I appreciate the suggestions and advice. With your help I've decided to go with the first contractor, the one I've used before. I guess that there is a money value to me in going with someone who has done good work for me in the past.

Thank you.

Choosing between two siding contractors

I need to have new siding put on the south side of my house and intend to use Jame Hardie fiber cement siding. My house extends over a hillside so that the job will require scaffolding over a three story drop. I've gotten two bids and am trying to decide between them. Contractor 1: The guy who put t...

When ApplePay first came out I scoffed at it, thinking that I could whip out my credit card, swipe, and be on my way in less time than using the phone. After the chip system came in, though, I grew to loathe putting my card in the reader then watching for the prompt on the screen telling me that I c...

Difficulty reconciling Amazon charges to Chase Amazon Visa

I buy a lot of things on Amazon so when I was offered the Chase Amazon Visa I took it. Thanks for the quick and helpful advice! I found the article especially useful. As long as we don't see events that bre...

Cashing out for 2017 expenses while market is high?

I am retired, receive a pension, and have both Roth and standard IRAs. Given how well the market is doing at the moment and m...

Thanks for the suggestions.

It isn't so much the money but the idea that I can't stop AT&T from charging me for texts that I don't want. It would be not much money to add texting to our plan but I don't see why I should have to.

AT&T cell: way to avoid paying for spam texts?

I have cell through AT&T. Since everyone in my family has iPhones we use iMessage for free and I don't pay AT&T for a texting plan. Over the last several months I've been receiving junk texts from the same business. Each time I dutifully forward the text to AT&T and block the number. Yet...

Dire need for a white pull-out kitchen sink spray hood

The house we bought a few years ago came with white appliances in the kitchen including a white sink.
