Why not use Fidelity? I saw it on the list. I wish I had that option and so do my coworkers! You also have Security Benefit. Do you have a list of providers available to your district? Some districts use www.omni403b.com as their administrator. ASPIRE is not a bad choice. They charge .15% plus 30$ flat fee(I think). Thanks for the formatting!

My childcare does get taken out of my paycheck but I don't think it is "pretax". I do use the Wage Works medical and dependent care option that takes out the money pretax. I'm trying to think of other things.

I think I am double counting. I wasn't sure how to do it. What would you recommend I do? I will go back and edit the original. This may be the year to unwind some of my taxable brokerage with capital gains and get the, into index funds. Also, the ny 529 lets me deduct up to 10k I'm thinking I can get really close to 50k. Maybe it won't be so hard to get to 50k? We were at 74k with my wife working half a year? I also have a huge loss coming from a sale of a condo. Haven't lived there in 5 years but purchased in 2007 for 320k and most likely selling for 190k ( yikes!).

Thanks for the reply! I was using the 457 because of the fact that in an emergency if I had to stop working before 59 then I would be able to access the money penalty free.
