Thanks for all the replies. Totally forgot to check for Southwest. For some reason, I didn't think they flew out of NYC area. I will play around with some dates and different carriers/one way/different airports etc. Trying to avoid flights that aren't nonstop with 2 year old and 4 week old lol.

Thanks for all the replies. I had forgotten that the BA domestic flights are only 7500. Only problem is there is no unfortunately no availability. I am checking way to close to the date. Maybe I will try the phone. Sometimes they can see things that online does not have?

Agree with previous poster about the 457. Are you in NY by any chance? The NY 457 is pretty amazing. Maybe your district can add a vendor? Vanguard? Aspire?

Ok that is what I thought but wanted to check. It would make more sense to fill them up even before our 403b with aspire as there is no fee on a Roth IRA. With our income after the deferral I think we will qualify for quote some time.

Is there any disadvantage to living in NJ while working in NY? More complicated taxes? As a teacher in NY I'm pretty sure the pension gets taxed if not living in NY differently than if you are living in ny. Not an issue now but down the line considering a move from NY to NJ.

Did the inside passage cruise. Loved every second. We actually did a huge northwest trip that included the cruise. We went to Portland, hood river, Olympic national park, Seattle. Great outdoor activity and amazing food too.

Helping my friend; It appears that for my friend to do a 403b rollover from a precious employer to a NYS deferred compensation plan 457 would be subject to the 10% early withdrawal fee. Is there any way around this? Still might be worth it with all of AXA fees. Thanks for any advice!
