Since Larry Auton and I (Alex Frakt) created this site in 2001, we have put in thousands of hours and thousands of dollars providing programming, hardware, bandwidth and management. We have done this gladly, directly inspired by the examples of Jack Bogle and Taylor Larimore, without asking for recompense of any kind.
However, the increasing popularity of the site has led to ever-increasing demands on our time and pocketbooks which are becoming unsustainable. As we prefer to keep the site commercial-free and are completely opposed to membership fees, we have decided to see if our members can provide ongoing support through donations and by using affiliate links to selected providers.
If you would like to donate directly to the maintenance and management of the site, I have arranged for my wife’s law firm to handle donations through its trust account (it helps that I’m the firm’s manager). Donations can be made by check or online via credit card or checking account via Paypal. Please note that donations are not tax deductible.
Online via PayPal (using credit card or PayPal account)
Mail (sending a check)
If you would prefer to send a check, please make it out to “Gostynska Frakt, Ltd.” and sent to:

Any purchases made at the following sites will result in a small referral fee for us.
Affiliate programs are run by commercial sites of all kinds and provide referral payments to websites for sending customers to via encoded links. The largest affiliate program is run by Amazon.com. The great thing about affiliate programs is that the customer pays nothing extra for entering through an affiliate link, so if the customer was going to purchase the product anyway, it’s a way to provide support with no drawbacks. Bogleheads.org is currently a member of the Amazon affiliates program only, but we will be reviewing and adding other programs as time goes on. Please be assured that we will be highly selective and will only enter into programs with companies that we (or our members) can personally recommend.
