The Chicago Bogleheads® local chapter was founded in 2007. The chapter is currently active, although as is the case with most mega cities with sprawling suburban communities, the chapter has a history of intermittent meetings.
The chapter first met with three meetings in 2007. The chapter was restarted in 2013, and a series of seven meetings followed, with the seventh meeting occurring on January 19, 2015.
The current restart effort culminated in March 14, 2016 meeting. At the final 2017 meeting, the chapter decided to schedule meetings on the first Thursday of every month.
Meeting venues
The majority of Chicago local chapter meetings have taken place at private residences. Public venues include a 2007 meeting at the Chicago Cultural Center, and a 2016 meeting at a Next Door cafe. Recent meetings have taken place at the Food Court of the Ogilvie Train Station/Citigroup Building.
Historical meetings
The three series of chapter meetings are documented in the following slide (three slides).
