From Bogleheads

I think it's time for a change. With the longer wiki Welcome text, we probably should delete one.

I'd like to keep this:

Anyone have new ideas to replace these (suggest using 3 at most)?

  • Renting your home is often less expensive than owning unless you will stay there for a decade.
  • Although bond funds are risky (they can lose value), they are exactly as volatile as a rolling ladder of individual bonds with the same duration.
  • Tax Loss Harvesting can save you $750 a year by allowing you to deduct $3,000 of your capital losses against your regular income.
  • The most typical Bogleheads bond allocation, according to the Bogleheads Investment Philosophy, is to hold 50% nominal bonds and 50% inflation-protected securities (TIPS).
