Talk:EE Savings Bonds
From Bogleheads
I've been wondering whether we should put the introduction section before the table of contents in our other wiki pages (just like we do in EE Savings Bonds). The wikipedia certainly does this. Also, the word "Introduction" doesn't carry much meaning because people generally expect a brief summary at the beginning of a wiki page. Thoughts? PiperWarrior 00:06, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- The rationale for Wikipedia's way is that the "lead" (the first few paragraphs) gives the reader a quick overview of the article topic—basically a condensed encyclopedia article. Then, readers who want more detail can get it by selecting the more specific topic they want from the table of contents or by just reading the rest of the article. To me it makes more sense to do it that way than to make people look at a table of contents when they arrive at an article page. --Spangineer (talk) 04:35, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'll convert existing pages then. PiperWarrior 10:34, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
