I created a redirect page so that anyone typing TIPS into the search box and hitting Go will automatically be redirected here. However, since TIPS is a far more common term than the full Treasury Inflation Protected Securities, should this page perhaps just be moved to TIPS so that it shows up in the search results more prominently? --CyberBob 14:38, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

Hmmm, I'm actually rethinking that suggestion now in light of the IPS/Investment Policy Statement page I just made. I also made a redirect there from IPS to the full-name page, as acronyms can be confusing if you don't know what they stand for. --CyberBob 17:00, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

Bob, I think in most cases I'd prefer using a full name for the page, employing redirects from common abbreviations. I don't feel real strongly about the issue though. Ken Schwartz 17:21, 12 June 2008 (EDT)

The full name for the title plus a redirect for the acronym works well. I like it. Wikipedia does it the same way -- try search for FDA, it redirects to "Food and Drug Administration." Tfb 22:24, 12 June 2008 (EDT)
