Day-to-day contact between Bogleheads occurs online. However, some members take advantage of the social opportunities presented by national and/or local meetings. Over the years, there has been significant growth in both types of events. John Bogle has attended seven of the national meetings, the first of which (ultimately named Diehards I) occurred in March 2000.

The 2009 National Bogleheads Reunion (Bogleheads 8) was held in Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas. Registration and reception started at 3PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, and the event ended at noon on Friday, October 2, 2009. Here is the Announcement.

Chapter Meetings

As a complement to the national meetings, local Diehards or Bogleheads chapters have existed since January 2005. There are currently 39 such groups. The Diehards Local Chapters subforum serves as a venue for meeting plans and recaps.

These local chapters are as varied as the Bogleheads. Some chapters meet in small informal groups at random dates. Other chapters have a set meeting schedule and a more formal meeting agenda. But the common bond between these local chapters are the desire to discuss personal investing with like minded peers. To organize a local chapter, all a Boglehead needs to do is post the call for a new chapter on the local forum, get at least five members in the area to join the group, and then ask a Boglehead Mod/Admin to add you to the national chapter map.
