General Error

In order to try to prevent spammers, we do not allow our members to post links or images until they have posted at least 4 legitimate posts and have been with us for more than 6 days. We appreciate your understanding in this matter in order to help us eliminate spam from this forum. If you have somehow gotten this message even though you meet both of the criteria, please email the Site Admin at bhadmin (at) diehards (period) org

Thanks!
sir:

no idea... maybe the computer read your posts, and decided they weren't actually legitimate? :) maybe 10 is the magic number... even though it says "4" is. just reply back to this here, and then reply back again, then try to post a URL or image. you should also email site admin if you haven't already, or PM an admin or mod.

maybe a popup blocker issue? or a firewall or your security settings? sounds like maybe a local issue w/ your computer setup/software, and not a forum issue... but i have no idea. try to login to here from another computer and try to post an image or link.

No, the program does that for you automatically when you select the "Quote" option.

Mel maybe I missed something, hit quote, went to your post hit select all, hit quote
No, the program does that for you automatically when you select the "Quote" option.
But I did figure a way to get it to work by adding ="Mel " after the first quote

Hopefully this works...

Thanks, I found this on a day trading web site about five years ago. I have no idea who it belongs to. But everyone who sees it gets a kick out of it.

visit the bogleheads wiki

1. copy the address;
2. hit url button, paste the address, hit url button;
3. add = at beginning, and delete bracket;
4. add bracket and descriptive text text at end.

bogleheads wiki

Just trying to figure out how to do this :!:

Pasting cells from a spreadsheet in my computer didn't work for me (it's a Mac) so I copied the source from a table on the first page of this thread to find out what tags to use to create a table. I succeeded but only partly—I could change some of the characteristics but not others. Why?

<table> <tr> <th>Why can't I left-align this text?</th> <th BGCOLOR="#99CCFF">...</th> <th BGCOLOR="#99CCFF">or change the background color?</th><th BGCOLOR="#99CCFF">...</th> <th BGCOLOR="#99CCFF">or the font size?</th></tr>
<tr> <td>the only way I could figure out how to indent the text in a column was to use dots for spacers</td> <td>...</td></td> </td> <td><--leave space</td><td>...</td> <td><--between columns?</td> </tr> <tr> <td>couldn't figure out how to right-align the text</td> <td>...</td><td>$15,452.51</td> <td>..</td> <td>$18,773.52</td></tr><td>or make the numbers line up correctly?</td> <td>...</td><td>$1,452.51</td> <td></td> <td> ..$1,773.52</td></tr></table>

Suggestions?

What sig? (it's blank)
Wiki To some, the glass is half full. To others, the glass is half empty. To an engineer, it's twice the size it needs to be.

Look again. If you change your avatar, it changes for all your past posts. If you add a sig, it is added to all. If you then delete it, it disappears into the ether.

Now you see it, now you don't! :)

Just one more. Then I'll have something potentially interesting to post.
