(But I still say it takes guts to have 100% of your equity allocation in small cap value, if it's anything over 25% of the portfolio.)

I understand how you get the small value tilt in domestic (using VBR would work), but how do you get the small value INTERNATIONAL tilt? VSS and Vanguard International Explorer couldn't do that (both of those are blend funds, so it must be a non-vanguard fund I don't know about).
Thanks!
edit: Looks like 80/20 DLS smallcap div/DGS Em small cap div gets you there.

I was thinking a cluster analysis would be interesting: group members according to similarity of their holdings. It isn't terribly surprising, but I found it amusing to see whose portfolios were almost mirror images of mine and whose were highly different.STC wrote:Who wants to volunteer to average all the posted styles and come up with a combined style-box? Here's the average we have so far for stocks:
19 19 16
09 09 06
10 08 04
This is giving equal weight to everyone, and if people only gave their domestic/international amounts, I just assumed they had a 50/50 ratio.
(also I excluded obviously fake inputs like RM's )
Here's the average we have so far for bonds:
07 42 11
12 10 10

Re: Post your Morningstar X-Ray Style Box
Interesting way to look at it. My difference from the sample average is:
-5 value
0 blend
+5 growth
+10 large
-1 mid
-9 small
So, slightly less value tilt and notably less small tilt. I do only use 10% of my domestic/int'l stock allocation for SV.
As for the sampling, it could be skewed to people who have an interest in style boxes. Anyone doing S&D will probably be more interested, whereas those just buying total market might say "LOL, style boxes" and move on to the next thread.
Still, it's fun to look at!

Yep, that's about right: 50% VBR; 37.5% DLS; 12.5% DGS. I tax-loss harvest with IJS and GWX when the opportunity presents itself so this is not always entirely accurate. Lest anyone think I've lost my mind :tarnation wrote:I'm curious as well.William4u wrote:empb, empb wrote:Domestic
