Happy Birthday, dear friend!
What a great treat it's been for me to know and work with you all these many years as we've built two financial forums and co-authored two books together, as well as starting the annual Bogleheads Conferences which will be celebrating its 13th reunion this October.
This Marine salutes his paratrooper friend and wishes you many, many more happy birthdays.
Best regards,
Mel

Like the others, I don't have much more to say except Thank You for helping me with my very first post on this forum (help with my portfolio). You PM'd me to say who you were and that the advice given here could be trusted. So, I hung around and followed the member's advice. That was one of the best investing decisions I have ever made.

Following the advice of Jack Bogle, Taylor and Mel has put you on the right track. Those guys are in it for the right reasons. Their mission is helping the small investor rather than stuffing their own pockets.
Irving Kahn, along with his brothers Alan and Thomas, founded Kahn Brothers & Company Inc. in 1978. At 105 years of age, Kahn still goes to the office every day to be involved in the management of the firm’s $800 million in assets. As a follower of Ben Graham, he evaluates stocks from the bottom up, buying undervalued stocks that are typically also out of favor.
