Happy Birthday Taylor

Postby Mel Lindauer » Fri Jan 25, 2013 2:43 pm

Hi Taylor:

Happy Birthday, dear friend!

What a great treat it's been for me to know and work with you all these many years as we've built two financial forums and co-authored two books together, as well as starting the annual Bogleheads Conferences which will be celebrating its 13th reunion this October.

This Marine salutes his paratrooper friend and wishes you many, many more happy birthdays.

Best regards,

Mel

Happy Birthday Taylor!

I'm a 3-fund guy now, thanks to you. That's a huge financial gift you've given me. I wish I could return the favor in some way.

Taylor,

I've learned a tremendous amount from you over the years. My favorite and most important bit of knowledge was also the most simple...The three fund portfolio!

Happy Birthday!

Thank you so very much for what you have contributed to my financial health, but most of all, thank you for your contributions in heroically fighting for our country in WWII.

Together, you and I have contributed 34,820 posts on this forum to join in Jack Bogle's crusade: "To give ordinary investors a fair shake." It's been a wonderful experience for me with thousands of caring on-line investor friends.

I also want to thank the thousands of Bogleheads who taught me much of what I know about mutual fund investing. Your friendship has brought real meaning to my life which (thankfully) is starting 89 years today.

Thank you and best wishes.

Like the others, I don't have much more to say except Thank You for helping me with my very first post on this forum (help with my portfolio). You PM'd me to say who you were and that the advice given here could be trusted. So, I hung around and followed the member's advice. That was one of the best investing decisions I have ever made.

Happy Birthday, Taylor:

As fate would have it, I emailed the following sentence today to a friend who recently moved his investments to Vanguard and is a lurker on the forum:
Following the advice of Jack Bogle, Taylor and Mel has put you on the right track. Those guys are in it for the right reasons. Their mission is helping the small investor rather than stuffing their own pockets.

Have a great birthday and many more. Just knowing you is a privilege.
