Vanguard Web Q
When I check the taxable income and distribution section of my on-line Vanguard account, it has never shown anything for my IRA account (as you would expect, since none of that would be taxable). This has been true for many years. Yesterday or so, I checked on my taxable distributions, but I apparently didn't set the screen for my taxable account, rather the IRA account. My IRA account showed a taxable distribution of a few thousand dollars for short term capital gains, apprently from my bond funds. This makes no sense. Does anyone know why this would appear on my IRA table?

I'd call Vanguard. Please post their response.
Re: Vanguard Web Q
An IRA shows transactions, but that doesn't mean they are taxable.
Do you see something like this? All the funds in your IRA have distributions, but I don't see the word taxable anywhere in my account online. The "gains" are the names of the distributions.
