We have reserved a room at Vesta located at 9th Street & Quarry Road in Coralville. Vesta is close to the Marriott Hotel and even closer to the water fountain. We meet at Noon. We order lunch from the menu and converse for approximately two hours.
Possible items for the agenda to discuss:
Brief discussion on the Boglehead philsophy for the Newbies
Are you comfortable with your diversification?
Are you concerned about inflation? If so, what action are you taking.
Have you bought, sold, rebalanced or stayed the course?
Brief report on the Minnesota meeting Jerry and I attended.
Any other topic you wish to discuss.
Kindly respond so we have an idea who is coming. Thank you. Cornfed
Eastern Iowa CRANDIC Chapter Spring 2011 Meeting, April 23rd
I have been asked to summarize our meeting today.
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words,
Arleigh and Pat and Navigator
George, Marlene and Bill and Onita,
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And CRANDIC meetings shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered,
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in Iowa now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That met with us in Coralville.

What all the wise men promised has not happened, and what all the damned fools said would happen has come to pass. —Lord Melbourne
Wow, I'm impressed to see the application of Shakespeare to our Bogleheads meeting! We didn't all talk like that. We managed to discuss many financial things which is the common bond that unites us. Ideas were discussed creating the motivation to investigate even more ideas. Thanks to all who provided their insight, explanations, opinions, and contributions. Most of all, we enjoyed the company of friends.
