Saturday March 5, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Location TBD. Possible locations listed on Meetup page (see link below). Location will be confirmed in the next week or two after we get some RSVPs.
Our last meeting was in November and, unfortunately, several people missed out because they were either unaware or did not see the topic on the forum. Since then, I've been looking at various options to better coordinate future meetings and Meetup.com seemed like the best solution.
Thus, in order to hopefully boost attendance and make it easier for people to get reminders and track future meetings, we've set up a Los Angeles Bogleheads Meetup group. For those who are planning to attend, please post on this thread and also RSVP for the meeting at the link below. A big thanks to edwin177 for sharing his Meetup account to help facilitate future meetings.
I don't have an agenda set up yet, but what I would like to see in future meetings is a pre-planned subject to provide a little structure. At a prior meeting, we all read Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely and that made for a nice topic of conversation. It would also be great to choose different investment topics and explore them in more detail or have someone present some of their findings. If anyone has other thoughts, please feel free to post.
P.S. For those who aren't familiar with Meetup.com, it is simply an organizational tool for local groups like the Bogleheads. If you are interested in other meetup groups on topics not related to investing, you can certainly explore other groups. However, if you are only interested in the Bogleheads group and don't want any other communication from Meetup.com, just be sure that e-mail communication is disabled.
