Mel,
Happy Birthday!
In putting together this wonderful Boglehead community, you helped my family and countless (thousands? tens of thousands?) of others in learning how to become better investors (and not lose the family money).
We are very grateful for your generosity :happy and wish you a great year!

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. I gave myself a $6,000 birthday present (my air conditioner went out today). They say they'll install the new one on Wed., so a couple of uncomfortable days and then I should be good to go.

As a Boglehead, thank goodness, you have an adequate emergency fund

Happy Birthday, Mel!

Sorry your AC went out. They have a way of failing us when we need them most. In spite of that, I hope you had a great birthday and wish you many more.

Happy Birthday Mel. Hopefully all those candles on the birthday cake won't set off the smoke alarm!! Don't worry, I am getting up there too. Best wishes, Ned.

Thanks Everyone for joining in to give Mel such a nice, "Virtual", festive, Birthday Party.

Mel,You're, "Cool," even without an air conditioner! 8-)

Hi Taylor,

You're welcome. Thank you for your wonderful post about Mel.

Hi Patriciamgr2, Thank you for your kind words. We started the, "Boglettes" tradition when we first sang, "Happy Birthday," to Mr. Bogle at our fifth reunion held in Las Vegas, in 2006, hosted by Dale. It was quite, spur-of-the-moment when I gathered all the ladies I could, that were present, and we all went up on stage and gave Mr. Bogle a surprise birthday serenade. He did look surprised! :D
Best wishes, | Kathleen

Thanks again for all the good wishes. Still without a/c and the heat index is around 100, so I may have to go hang out in some air conditioned stores to cool down. Tomm. and my new a/c can't come soon enough!
