We will be having our first meeting of the San Francisco/Bay Area/San Jose Chapters 5 & 9 of the Vanguard Diehards/Bogleheads of 2013, in February.

Guest Speaker: Vladimir Masek, PhD (mathematics). Vladimir is Larry Swedroe’s associate. He taught math and finance at Washington University in St. Louis, and contributed as “mathguy” on the Vanguard Diehards board in the early 2000’s.

You may want to put the location of the meeting/chapters in the thread title to make sure that Bogleheads in the area read it and that others don't waste their time checking to see if 5 & 9 are in their area.

Dear All,

It was nice to see familiar faces and meet many new people today, Friday, 2/15/13. We had a very nice meeting today with eighteen members present.

We met at the Old Spaghetti Factory, in San Jose, CA from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. First we introduced ourselves, then ordered our lunches, and then our wonderful speaker, Vladimir Masek started his presentation.

Could someone who is more computer knowledgeable than I, please post the PDF File I just forwarded to you? I don't know how to forward this to our site here. Thank you.

After Vladimir's presentation, we had a question and answer session, and then the meeting concluded. About five people stayed to discuss a few other topics for about fifteen minutes.

Looking forward to our next meeting. When the the details are finalized, I will e-mail everyone, as well as post the details here---->at the Bogleheads.org site, and at our SF/Bay Area Yahoo site. I'm hopeful this will be in April sometime, most likely in San Francisco.
