Non-bank issued checks

Post by Trying2blazy »

We recently switched to BOA and I have noticed that it's very expensive to order checks from them. I would like to order checks from some place else (any suggestions?) but the notion of somebody other than my bank issuing checks freaks me out. Is there any advantage to bank issued checks?

Thanks in advance

No advantage of getting checks from you bank unless they are free, so go to the cheapest place. I personally ditche BoA and went to WellsFargo where everything is free, Free, FREE (including checks) and the service is better as well.

I have ordered checks from those indep. vendors for many years and never had any problem. They all use the same printing companies anyway. You can get a lot of them cheap. My current favorite is Costco. You can get them online. It is totally painless.

my wife found very inexpensive checks from an advertisment in the Sunday paper. Worked out fine.

Now, our bank has some sort of 'deal" where we get free checks as part of a package.

Ask the ank if they have free checks for any of the accounts offered, or for any packages of accounts.

I refuse to pay extra for any fancy checks. No pictures of family members, no astrological signs, no religious or political messages or propaganda, no pictures of animals, no college mascots, NFL or baseball players, and so on.

I ordered checks online from Walmart:

That was about four years ago. These days I write very few checks so I still have plenty from that order.

So direct deposit into your BoA account and immediately transfer online to your real bank account.

I used a couple of internet check printers for my business checks with no problems.

I have never ordered checks from my bank because they cost so much more.

Look at these two places to start

I've gotten them for years and years from Current, http://www.currentcatalog.com/~Checks.html

No problems whatsoever.
