Productivity Apps that you pay for
Productivity Apps that you pay for
Hi all,
What productivity apps do you all use and pay for? I am open to hearing about the free ones, but would love to hear what you use daily and helps save time or make you more effective for work and your personal life.
I'll name a few that I use daily and pay for:
1. Dashlane - password manager - saves passwords across all of my devices. allows you to generate strong secure passwords and store them locally on your device. I opted for the premium version for $39.99 a year. Premium allows you to sync multiple devices.
2. Evernote - I use this for notes for work and some daily reminders. I opted for the premium version, not 100% sure why to be honest, but I am happy to support the cause.
3. Microsoft Office - I bought a physical keycard on Amazon for $39.00 this gets you access to Office 365 for the year. If you buy it on Amazon, you have to wait a few days for a physical card, but you save a considerable amount off the cover price.
What do you use?

Mac: Ulysses (complex documents and projects), iA Writer (quick, one-time word processing tasks)
Mac and iPhone: Fantastical,1Password, Soulver
Of all these, 1Password is the most essential and useful.
I gave OmniFocus and Things a try, but it turns out my life isn't that complicated, and Apple's Reminders app does all I need.

Re: Productivity Apps that you pay for
I've spent way too much time over the years fiddling with finding the *right* productivity apps. That said, I use:
Todoist - finally the task app that has an iOS app that works for me and a good web app to use from my Windows machine at work. It has a free tier, I paid for premium. I tried for years to make Omnifocus work, but in the end it was too fiddly and I needed quick entry from Windows.
1Password - The iOS app has great integration with touchid and I can sync across all devices and computers.
Paprika - A recipe app, so not necessarily productivity, but greatly helps my wife and I decide what to make for dinner.
Wunderlist - I use the free service to sync shopping lists, packing lists, etc with my wife.
Evernote - I was gifted a premium subscription but mainly use this for long-term running text notes (wines I like, books/movies to read, etc).

I only pay for an e-mail account and a domain name. These also will be passed down to my children. I use TurboTax as well, but after discounts and kickbacks, I make a little money from doing so.

There's like 89 to do list apps. I've tried 14 and all work just fine.

Learning to use Evernote is on my to-do list. Every source I look at says it's a great app, and I have it, but I don't know what I should be using it for.

I've tried many of the ones mentioned, but I still find far and away the best for my android phone is the google suite. Gmail, Gcal, Gkeep, Gdrive are the best out there, and free.
Re: Productivity Apps that you pay for
Is Keep content available offline? I might look at that when my Evernote subscription is due for renewal.lightheir wrote:I've tried many of the ones mentioned, but I still find far and away the best for my android phone is the google suite. Yes - it will reupdate after you reconnect.jebmke wrote:Is Keep content available offline? Re: Productivity Apps that you pay for
However, be aware that Keep is fairly lightweight. If you use Evernote to do more than just keep simple notes and lists, you might find Keep doesn't meet your needs.lightheir wrote:Yes - it will reupdate after you reconnect.jebmke wrote:Is Keep content available offline? Microsoft Onenote is freely available on all the major platforms, and comes with many GBs of free cloud storage. And on mobile you can designate which Notebooks you want to make available offline. If Keep is too simple for you, Onenote may be a better free option.
Re: Productivity Apps that you pay for
Thanks. Will check it (OneNote) out. I'm a bit leary of having all my notes searched by Google anyway.
