Adult 3-Couple Getaway

Post by guitarguy »

Hi All,

My wife and 2 of the couples we are friends with are looking to go on a little getaway this June/July. One of the couple is saving up to get married in the fall so looking to stay on a reasonable budget and rent a 3-bedroom house, condo, cottage, etc. If we could at or near $1500 for 6-7 days that would be ideal.

If anyone could give us a recommendation I'd really appreciate it!!

We're in SE Michigan...looking to stay within ~15 hour driving distance. (we like road trips!)

Try VRBO.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner), now merged with HomeAway.com

They've got a huge listing base of cabins and condos throughout the country (and overseas, too, now).

We list there.

Just look for a place where you'll have personal contact with an owner, preferably, or at least a manager, rather than "all online".
You can probably tell a lot from speaking with the person.

And to be "safe", don't wire money. Use a charge card. Not only would they back up your money, but any scammers out there probably wouldn't use a credit card form of payment,
(Don't mean to alarm you. VRBO has taken quite a few steps to prevent fraud. But it's always good to be prudent.)

Enjoy!

For that price point & time of year I'd go with Dennisport,Ma on Cape Cod , check out the following website for rentals :

http://www.newenglandvacationrentals.com/

VRBO as RMed mentioned is also good .

airbnb has a much better and more interesting selection than vrbo, IMO
but both are good.
