Note from Experian: Change of name, address, or SS#

Post by sunnyday »

I received a letter from Experian today stating:
We are required to notify you that within the last 30 days changes to your name, address or social security number have been reported to us by a creditor. We are required to notify you because of your security freeze.
I paid a dollar to view my credit report from them (I already used annualcreditreport.com this year) and the only thing that I saw off was my name was listed twice and my middle initial wrong for one of them.

Is this worth taking a closer look at and if so, what can be done?

I think my name is spelled three different ways on one of my reports. The important thing though is all my account's information is correct, and there are no accounts or loans that weren't opened by me.
The surest way to know the future is when it becomes the past.

Thanks cheese_breath. That's what I was thinking too. Since everything on my credit report looks legit and I have my credit frozen, I should be fine.
