Best Case for iPhone 4S

Post by ruanddu »

Hello,

I am looking to get a inexpensive case for a used iPhone 4s I just bought. Something with some shock protection and that allows you to use all features without removing case. Any suggestions? So far, this seems the best bet:

JETech Super Gold case :

Thanks.

I have an Otter Box Defender series, purchased at my local Verizon store and also available on Amazon. Very satisfied with this case.

I have an Otterbox Commuter series. Bought new in box from eBay for ~$18. Good protection. Can be taken off easily. Combine with a screen film protector.

My iPhone 4 (Ting) still works perfectly for my needs.

I dislike thick heavy cases. The double glass on the 4/4s is at risk of breaking, but the rear glass is very cheap and easy to replace ($5-10 on eBay), the front not so easy. These phones are 3 year old now, and replacement relatively cheap, so I take my chances with no case or a very thin plastic case. I got one recently from eBay like this one:

and other colors and stuff:

Case is thin, and unlikely to provide much protection in a fall. Mostly decorative and scratch protection.

I usually put screen protectors, and might if it's cheap and easy, but again, for a replacement cost of less than $150-200, I don't sweat it.

I have this too for my iPhone 4s. I like it. Bought it on Amazon. My wife has one too and she has dropped her phone on hard surfaces a number of times; it has protected her phone well.

It depends on what you are looking for. For min protection, you can get what is term a bumper case that wraps around the phone. At the other extreme, there's the life proof case which supposedly protect against drops in water.

Keep in mind that the iphone glass is fairly scratch proof and will withstand keys but not sand. If you drop your iphone, you are most likely to crack it if it hits the corner or the screen head on.

My wife uses a simple TPU case. Some of them are transparent, but be warned that they yellow over time.

My preference typically is the Trident Aegis cases, which is equivalent to a Otterbox defender, but is cheaper.
