Best place to get contact lenses ?
Best place to get contact lenses ?
Hi folks,
My wife uses the acuvue for astigmatism contact lenses and we've been getting them from the local pharmacy for $37/box. Just wondering if someone sells the same brand for less (it'll also be nice if they have the ability to bill our insurance directly) ?
thanks,
Rex.

Acuvue lenses for astigmatism are on sale with free shipping at Walgreens.com using the coupon code found on the Walgreens website (20% off).

My wife bought her lenses at Costco and was very satisfied. (She has since had laser surgery.)
I see that Costco does sell acuvue lenses.

I get mine from http://www.visiondirect.com/. They're cheaper than 1800 Contacts in my experience. Make sure you search for a coupon code before placing your order, you can typically get a fairly significant discount.

Try Costco.

Another vote for Vision Direct. Last time I ordered, there was a good coupon (20%?), and Discover offered good cashback (15% or so) via ShopDiscover. And Vision Direct also gave me a few Drugstore.com bucks, which I used to buy some merchandise. The Drugstore.com order shipped free too, thanks to Shoprunner!

Costco. I don't have contacts, but the people that I am most familiar with that do get them at Costco.

contactlens.com is the cheapest I've seen for the type I wear.

It's also worth noting that the Costco coupon books have coupons for contact lenses pretty regularly, usually something like $10-20 off.Tortoise wrote:My wife bought her lenses at Costco and was very satisfied. (She has since had laser surgery.)

Re: Best place to get contact lenses ?
I like 1800contacts.com service plus they will beat the best price you can find elsewhere by 2%.
I shop around and then call or chat with them online and tell them the price and where I found it. The contacts show up in my mailbox a few days later.
Here are terms from their website. The offer doesn't apply to membership clubs (i.e. Costco) but I've never found Costco to have better prices than alternative online sources.

It depends on what you wear. I have to shop around each time. The best vendor one year isn't the best another year.

Visiondirect.com sometimes has great deals if you use their coupon codes. Last time I got a 1 year supply of Acuvue Oaysis for just $90.
