Has anyone been successful adding their Fidelity Cash Management Account as an External Account on ING?
I suppose it doesn't really matter if I can set the link on the FCMA side (with push and pull supported, presumably), but it would be easier if I could establish the link from both sides.

I had the same issue and just use the Fidelity side for push/pull.

I (coincidentally) actually attempted this earlier this evening and was unsuccessful as well. The message I received from ING was "It looks like the routing number you provided is for a pre-paid checking account. We're unable to link to that type of account at this time."
Any others with a similar experience?

Yes - Fidelity uses multiple banks for the Cash Management account to diversify/increase FDIC limits as an aggregate. Noted above, the solution is to set up the link from the Fidelity side instead of through INGdirect.
