BOGLEHEADS 12 VIDEOS

Post by VELO724X »

To All:

The first video from the proceedings of Bogleheads 12 is now up on Vimeo. The rest will be going up over the next few weeks. To start off, please enjoy another wonderful discussion between our mentor, Jack Bogle, and Bill Bernstein.

BH 12 - Bogle & Bernstein Fireside Chat
https://vimeo.com/channels/bogleheads/77404520

The channel, which collects the proceedings from the reunions, can be found here:
https://vimeo.com/channels/bogleheads

Here, you will find the Jack Bogle Keynotes, Q & A's, and Panel of Experts discussions from past Bogleheads Reunions, currently Bogleheads 9, 10, 11 and, starting now, 12.

You will also find links to the proceedings in the Bogleheads Conventions section in the wiki.
http://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Boglehea ... n_Meetings

Once again, heartfelt thanks to Jack Bogle and all the authors and experts who traveled to the meeting to impart their wisdom. Also, I am especially grateful to Mel Lindauer and his army of organizers and volunteers for making these gatherings possible. The wonderful and interesting people I always meet make attending these meetings the intellectual and inspirational highlight of my year.

A special shout out goes to my colleagues Pongo, familydoc and Victoria who work very, very hard documenting these events for all to enjoy and benefit from and also LadyGeek who brings it all together with the amazing wiki.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

Excellent fireside chat.

Not quite as good as being there in person, but sure is a close second.

I watched the fireside chat video with Mr. Bogle and WIlliam Bernstein. Excellent. I like Mr. Bogle, he wears really well and is more impressive the more you listen to him. BTW, I bought Bernstein's book today the Four Pillars of Investing.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was quite interested to hear Mr. Bogle's political views.

For those of us who were not able to attend, are there any videos of the other sessions?

Hi:

As Morningstar videos are presented, we will be adding them to the wiki page devoted to Bogleheads 12. The first three interviews with John Bogle are available as of (10/24/2013).

1. Bogle's expectations for stocks and bonds
2. Bogle: Be sensible about rebalancing
3. Bogle: Indexing always pays off.

The second three interviews with John Bogle are available as of (10/25/2013).

4. Bogle: Target-date funds have a flaw
5. Bogle skeptical of credit-sensitive bonds, smart beta
6. Bogle on conflicts with the fiduciary standard

Bogleheads® 12 videos - Bogleheads

regards,

edit: added videos (10/25/2013)

Yes! I have all the sessions recorded and will be uploading them as quickly as I can. Keep an eye on this thread as I'll post when I upload each of them. (Although I have unlimited storage space, the main limiting factor is a weekly limit for uploading large video files. Well, that and my day job!)

Glad everyone is enjoying. The sessions were phenomenal!

...I found Bogleheads on my Apple TV/Vimeo, but it says that there are no videos there. :(

Thank you, Taylor!

Doing a secret handshake with Jack was a great honor, and now I have this spectacular memory of the event!

Growing up in the Soviet Union, I could not imagine in my wildest dreams that I would live in the United States, become a capitalist by the virtue of owning shares of companies, own the entire market using index funds, and shake hands with the greatest patron of the individual investors.

Your Boglehead legacy including the The Bogleheads' Guide to Retirement Planning and this forum, as well as your experience and wisdom have been invaluable to this younger newbie Boglehead.
