Nobel laureate Ronald Coase launching new journal

Economics Nobel laureate Ronald Coase is currently in discussion with university publishers about launching a new economics journal. The tentative title of the new journal is Man and the Economy. Earlier this year Coase co-authored the book, How China Became Capitalist. Coase's Nobel prize mainly rests on the basis of two famous papers he authored - The Nature of the Firm (1937), and The Problem of Social Cost (1960).

Today, December 29, Ronald Coase celebrates his 102nd birthday. So here's wishing Professor Coase a very happy birthday and also thanking him for giving the rest of us hope that we too can live not just long lives, but long productive lives.

Amen to that!

Coase's greatest accomplishment, IMO, was being the only human known to get Milton Friedman to admit he was wrong about something (the regulation/social cost issue).
